05/02/02 - We have had many requests to use Paypal or a similar billing
method.  At this time we will not be doing business through any of these
services as they will charge as much of an additional fee as we would
have to, in addition to the difficulty dealing with these "services".

12/29/01 - Finally, our post-inventory update, the first since 11/10/01.
Email links are operational again. Several new catagories have been added,
to make finding merchandise easier. New catagories are: Fantasy Vehicles,
Mechs/Tanks, Sci-Fi Figure Accessories, Room Accessories, R/R Car Accessories,
Horror RPG, and Non-Historical Rulesets & Miniature Based Games have been
grouped together. Also, all sci-fi RPG mags have been moved to Sci-Fi Mags.

11/03/01 - Now at the bottom of each catalog page, is a "Company Abbreviation"
link.  This link will open, in a new window, an alphabetical listing of the
abbreviations we use for the manufacturers.  If you set it to a smaller window
when you first open it, it will open as a smaller window each subsequent time.

The number in the "On Hand Quantity" column is the actual amount of the item
that we have in stock, if there is a zero, the item is either out-of-stock,
or it is no longer in production.  Items that have sold out and cannot be
reordered must remain in our inventory system for 2 years after the last
one sold.  This is for tax purposes, and we apologize for any confusion this
may cause.  If the OHQ is a zero, and we can still get the item for you, we 
will attempt to do so.

The following are our sales/mail-order policies, please read.
By ordering, you automatically agree to these policies.

Welcome to Friends' Hobby Shop.  This website was originally designed 
to allow members of our gaming club who have left the area to continue to
purchase items that may not be available to them.  Due to the overwhelming
response from everyone, we decided to expand the site.
In the interest of honesty, there are a number of things you should know.
Please read the items below as they are the terms we work under.
Some of them may seem harsh, but have been necessitated by customer behavior.

1)  We do not accept phone or FAX orders, only those e-mailed to:
    orders@friendshobby.com.  We accept only cashiers (not personal) checks
    or money orders.  To ensure a response to your e-mail request, you must
    include mailing address, w/zipcode, and items numbers & descriptions of
    all items you are interested in.  Items are put "on-hold" only when we
    receive a "payment sent" email, and then only for 10 days after which
    the items are returned to the store shelves, so be sure to send
    payment promptly.

2)  We ship via US Postal priority unless otherwise instructed. We are a small
    business with two employees, and no bulk mailing permit, therefore
    shipping costs will seem higher than with larger companies.  We do not have
    UPS pickup and must deliver the packages to UPS or the US Post Office. We
    do this 2 -3 times a week, depending on the amount of orders.  We will make
    every effort at speedy fulfillment of orders, but with other commitments,
    your order may take 1 -2 days to be shipped after payment is received.

3)  Shipping - We ship by the safest means possible and recover ALL costs. Our
    responsibility for items ends when they are delivered to the carrier.

A)  In order to ensure that you stay informed, we follow these
        steps in filling your order:
    -   We e-mail a product cost and costs for different shipping alternatives.
    -   We send the cash register receipt with your order.
    -   We will send you an e-mail letting you know when the item(s)
        have been shipped.

B)  We tend to overpack items to ensure they arrive safely.

C)  We automatically ship via priority, unless it is considerably more
        expensive than parcel post, then we give you the option.

D)  We always use delivery confirmation (.40¢  or  .50¢).

E)  We always insure packages.

F)  For small or lightweight items, the cost of shipping will probably 
        exceed the cost of the item(s).  If this is a problem, let us know,
        or we will ship it via our normal means.

G)  There is a $1.50 to $2.50 handling fee (per box sent, in cases of
        large orders) on every order, depending on size of the order.

REMEMBER - UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes, so please provide us with a
           secure address for UPS deliveries.

4)  Defects - All unsealed items are inspected closely before they are shipped.
    This includes checking boxes for creases, dents or tears.  If any items
    are damaged beyond normal shelf wear, we will e-mail you and wait for your
    response as to whether you still want that item. Defective books or figures
    will not be shipped unless we are instructed to do so.

A)  Models and sealed items - Any missing or incorrect parts in a box
        are the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER of the item(s).  All of
        these companies have customer service numbers and will replace items:
        parts, instructions, decals, if you call them.  Also, it is easier and
        usually quicker to contact the manufacturer.

If a box (shipping container) comes damaged, crushed or mangled from shipping, 
e-mail us immediately.  The carrier of your choice will pick up the package
and credit us for shipping and cost of item(s). When we get the credit, we will
either ship you a replacement or give you a refund.  Please remember to check 
all packages upon ARRIVAL for any damages and save the box and packaging if
there are any damages.

5)  Returns - Merchandise may only be returned under the following conditions
    if not damaged in transit:

A)  We must receive a request to accept a return.
    B)  We must have sent you a Return Approval Number via e-mail.
    C)  The item(s) must be in sellable condition or unopened (if sealed). 
    D)  Return postage is at YOUR expense.
    E)  When we receive the item(s) back, we will refund the purchase price
        minus a 30% restocking fee.

6)  Methods of payment - We accept the following forms of payment, we will
    e-mail an order status and estimated shipping & handling costs when
    you place your order:

A)  We do NOT accept personal checks.

B)  Postal or Bank Money Order - We will begin to fill the order as 
        soon as we receive the payment. Make payable to: Friends' Hobby Shop.
    
    C)  Cashiers Check or Bank Draft - See "B)".

D)  Credit Cards - We do not accept credit cards for mail-orders, and 
        apologize for the inconnvenience this may cause.

E)  A Draw Account - This is where you send us a sum of money and 
        we deduct from it merchandise and shipping costs each time you
        order.  You must always have a balance in the account that exceeds
        your order, or the order will be held pending a further deposit.
        This method is designed more for our affiliate clubs, but we will
        use it for individuals.  We will send you a statement at the end of
        each month (minus postage) and reminders with your orders.
