Gamemasters' Guild of Waukegan

What is the Gamemasters' Guild of Waukegan?

and why should I join?

The Gamemasters' Guild of Waukegan has a long history of interaction with the public. Its goals are to have fun and to educate the public about the benifits of gaming. To achive these goals the Guild attends and hosts a number of conventions. The Guild also involves itself with public schools and organizations. Guild members are active in many facets of gaming, from role-playing to miniatures; from board games to collectable card games. Guild members are eager to teach games to beginners and to learn new games themselves. Members also take an active part in the Guild events and outreach programs.

The Gamemasters' Guild has been a business since July of 1997, although its history stretches back much farther than that. There is a formal organizational structure and charter that allows Guild members be invlved with the Guild at various levels. Members can choose the amount of rights and responsibilities that they are comfortable with, and non-members also have access to the Guild facilities.

The Gamemasters' Guild's long-term goal is to form a nation-wide network of clubs through which members can move freely and exert a positive influence on the gaming industry and on the public. The Guild also encourages family participation as a means to strengthen family bonds through shared learning experiences and fun. More Guild members means more challenges and more games and activites to be shared.
